Merton Park Primary School

Merton School PrimaryMerton School Primary

Pupils do exceptionally well at this school, in terms of both their academic and personal development.

Leaders, including governors, are relentless in their ambition to make this school the best it can be.

The behaviour of pupils is outstanding. Pupils have excellent attitudes to learning. They work hard at all times and persevere with tasks that are frequently challenging.

The warm, mutually supportive relationships that staff and pupils have with each other make this a very caring, nurturing school.

Provision in the Early Years is outstanding. Children make rapid and sustained progress due to excellent teaching and imaginative activities.

The curriculum is excellent. It promotes a real love for learning in pupils, as they have many opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills within a real-life context.

School Dinners

The London Borough of Merton are committed to ensuring that Merton school dinners are healthy and contain quality ingredients.  At Merton Park, we provide halal meals and vegetarian options as well as individual menus for children with specific dietary needs.

School dinners are free for all children in Reception, Yr 1 and Yr 2.

The current cost of school meals for children in KS2 is £9.50 per week.  Meals must be paid for weekly or termly, in advance, preferably by Parent Pay.  Credit for an absence will be carried forward to the following week.

Pupils across the school are asked to commit to school meals for a full week.

Although school dinners are cooked on the premises the school uses the services of a catering company, Chartwells.  To find out more about Chartwells and to access the current menu please click here (you will need to select the local authority and then Merton Park).

Hydration

It is important that children keep hydrated during the day so all children at Merton Park have a water bottle that they can drink from during their lessons.  There are water fountains in the playground and in the corridor and all children are encouraged to drink water with their lunch.  Children at Merton Park drink water or milk only.
