Literacy
In Year 3 we have selected a wonderful range of children’s books to enhance the children’s pleasure in reading and to teach literacy creatively. We use lots of strategies to support writing, including: discussion, drama, role play, reading aloud and oral story-telling. Children learn how to organise their ideas and writing and how to use an increasingly varied vocabulary to make their writing interesting.
Maths
In Years 3 & 4 children solve increasingly complex number problems. They use all four mathematical operations (+ - x ÷) and are encouraged to talk about their methods and their solutions.
